What is Evidence-Based Dentistry (EBD)?
The American Dental Association (ADA) defines EBD as "an approach to oral health care that requires the judicious integration of systematic assessments of clinically relevant scientific evidence, relating to the patient's oral and medical condition and history, with the dentist's clinical expertise and the patient's treatment needs and preferences." There are thousands of published research papers in dentistry. EBD finds and critically reviews the papers relevant to a specific topic related to the patient's needs. Why not use the best available evidence for treatment? Our practice is trained to apply EBD to our patients. As a champion of EBD, Dr. Cajulis believes that the patient is best served by integrating the best available evidence to treatment.
